Fluency

Overview: 

In this Deep Dive, participants will define fluency according to the Science of Reading, examine how fluency develops across grade levels, and analyze expectations for instruction from Kindergarten through Grade 12. They will explore research-based strategies and assessments to strengthen fluency instruction and support student success at each stage of literacy development.

Objectives:

·       Define fluency and its components according to the Science of Reading.​

·       Understand how fluency develops from Kindergarten to Grade 12.​

·       Analyze fluency expectations and instruction across grade bands (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12).​

·       Explore research-based strategies and assessments to support fluency.
